Yohanna Idha is an award-winning actress and a true artist whose life
has been devoted to exploring the human soul through performance and
image.
Since
graduating from the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts
in New York in 2004, she has become a luminous presence in film, television,
and theatre — a force of nature whose range and emotional depth
have captivated audiences across the globe.
Her
performances are layered, raw, and profoundly human. Critics and filmmakers
alike have recognized her gift for transformation, rewarding her with
nominations and international acting awards.
Yohanna
has starred in more than a hundred productions and is widely known
for her roles in acclaimed series such as Blinded (dir. Jens Jonsson),
Love & Anarchy (dir. Lisa Langseth), Boy Machine (FLX), and Elsa’s
World.

Her
breakthrough came with Levan Akin’s debut feature Certain People
(Katinkas Kalas), where her performance earned her the L’Oréal
Paris Rising Star Award at the Stockholm International Film Festival.
International press soon followed: The Wall Street Journal’s
Steve Dollar praised her Tribeca performance as one of the very best
of the festival, while SIFF honored her with the Bronze Horse for
Best Actress.
Whether
in front of the camera, behind the lens, or producing groundbreaking
theatre, she pours passion into everything she touches.
For
her, both acting and photography are about the same sacred act: capturing
a soul, revealing truth, and holding beauty in a single moment.
She
has produced independent films and theatre performances, and between
2009–2012 she ran Nebula Production Talent Agency, championing
other voices in the industry.
Yohanna’s
artistry is matched only by her resilience. At the height of her career,
she endured years of debilitating back pain and multiple surgeries —
yet emerged stronger, fiercer, and more radiant than ever.
Her
discipline, training daily with world-renowned Tracy Anderson, and her
unyielding devotion to her craft have transformed her into an artist
of extraordinary strength, both physically and creatively.
Her career spans continents and genres: daring theatre monologues with
Teatermaskinen on topics such as mental health and the environment,
a widely acclaimed Miss Julie at Teater 3, and the bold, visceral Skarabé,
exploring themes of domestic violence, sexuality, and female empowerment.
Yohanna
never shies away from the difficult or the raw. Instead, she embraces
it — weaving her vast reservoir of lived experience and emotional
truth into unforgettable characters.
Beyond
the screen and the stage, Yohanna is also a muse. Fashion photographer
Hannah Hedin has called her an endless source of inspiration; together
they have created thousands of portraits and artistic works over the
past decade. Yohanna’s
collaborations extend into the world of fashion, beauty, and design,
where her unique duality as both odel and photographer has led to striking
creative campaigns for exclusive brands.
Fluent in English, with just the trace of an accent, Yohanna moves effortlessly
between Swedish and international productions. Her talent, discipline,
and vision mark her as an actress destined for even greater global recognition
— a star whose light is only growing brighter.
